The National Shooting Sports Foundation has debuted a new online resource to encourage people to take up target shooting, which the association said is one of the safest recreational activities a person can participate in.
The website—LetsGoShooting.org—was created "created to be a go-to resource for all things target shooting and firearms safety," NSSF said in a statement. The site contains information for people who have never purchased firearms about where they can gun retailers, shooting ranges and instructors. It also has information about gun safety and a library of videos and articles for more experienced shooters.
"Our goal is to provide everyone—from beginners to experienced target shooters—with everything they need to get started, to invite someone new, and to find the tools they need to make their next trip to the range the best experience it possibly can be," said Laura Springer, NSSF's director of web strategy and development.
Among the features of the site is a map feature that shows users the locations of gun ranges and other shooting sports venues near them.
